Who you are dealing with

This site is run by Sunil Mathew, operating as The Living Craft, from Bangalore, India. There is no company behind it and no team. Write to apply@thelivingcraft.ai and I answer it myself.

Using this site means you accept what is on this page. If you do not, the remedy is simple and costs you nothing: stop using it.

What these terms do not cover

The commercial terms of the cohort and of consulting work are not set here. They are agreed with you directly, at the point there is something to agree. For the cohort that means the offer you receive if you are given a seat. For consulting it means a written scope and engagement agreement signed by both of us.

Where those documents and this page ever disagree about a programme or an engagement, those documents govern. This page governs the website.

Using the site

You may read everything here, quote it with attribution, and share the links. You do not need an account, and there is nothing to sign up for.

Please do not:

• submit somebody else's details, or book a call in somebody else's name
• attempt to reach the sign-in areas, the operator console, or any data that is not yours
• scrape the site at a rate that costs me money, or run automated load against the assistant
• use the assistant to generate content unrelated to this practice, which is what the rate limits are for
• republish the teaching material as your own, or resell it

I may block access that does any of these. There is no appeals process, because there is one of me — but if you think a block is wrong, write and I will look at it.

The assistant

The question-and-answer assistant is built on a large language model. It is given a fixed set of facts about this practice and instructed to say it does not know rather than guess. That instruction usually holds. It is not a guarantee.

Nothing the assistant says is professional advice, and nothing it says is a binding offer. If it states a price, a date or a seat count that turns out to differ from what is on the relevant page, the page is correct and the assistant is wrong. Please tell me when that happens.

Do not type anything confidential into it. Your question is sent to a model provider in order to answer it, and it is stored here so I can see what my pages failed to explain. The privacy page sets out exactly what that means.

Booking a call

A booked call is a diary entry. It is not a contract, it costs nothing, and it obliges neither of us to go further.

Your invitation carries a link that moves or cancels the call. Please use it rather than letting a slot go empty, because the slots are finite and someone else could have taken it. I may also move or cancel a call, in which case you are told through the same calendar invitation. If I cancel and you still want the conversation, write to me and we will find another time.

The link in that invitation is personal to your booking and lets whoever holds it change the call. Do not forward it.

Applying for a seat

Admission to the cohort is by application, and I read every one myself. Applying costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Submitting an application is not a purchase, and it does not reserve a seat.

A seat exists only when I offer you one and you accept it. The fee, when it is payable, and the terms that go with it are set out in that offer. Admission is at my discretion, and most applications get a no.

Consulting work

The pages describing the Fractional Chief AI Officer retainer and the AI Readiness Assessment are descriptions of what I do, not offers capable of acceptance. Any engagement starts with a written scope agreed by both of us, which is where the fee, the duration, the deliverables and everything else are fixed.

One published commitment does carry over, because it is stated on both pages: if you commission an AI Readiness Assessment and begin a fractional CAIO engagement within 60 days of it, the full assessment fee is credited toward your first month.

Prices shown on this site are indicative and are confirmed on a scope call before anything is agreed.

The material published here

The writing, the teaching material and the site itself are mine, and copyright stays with me. The published resources are a deliberate exception, and the permission is broad: they are free to use and free to pass on, including inside your own organisation and in your own work. Nothing there needs an account, a licence or an email address.

What that permission does not include is republishing the material as your own, or selling it. Attribution is appreciated and not demanded.

If you are a cohort participant, what you write and build during the programme is yours. I do not claim ownership of your work, and I do not publish it without asking you first.

Links to other sites

Some pages cite or link to other people's work. Those sites are not mine, I do not control what they publish, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

Availability

This is a small site run by one person. It may be unavailable for maintenance, because a service it depends on is down, or because I broke something. There is no uptime commitment, and features may change or be removed.

Where a part of the site fails, the rest is designed to keep working — a booking still saves when the calendar service is unreachable, and the assistant points you at a form when it cannot answer. That is the intent rather than a promise.

Liability

The site and its material are provided as they are. I have taken care to make them accurate and useful, and I do not warrant that they are free of errors or suitable for any particular purpose of yours.

Nothing here is professional, legal, financial or regulatory advice. The material discusses regulated-industry obligations because that is the subject matter, and reading it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation.

To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, including lost profit, lost data or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Your personal data

Set out in full on the privacy page, which names every field collected, every company that processes it, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Before that becomes relevant, write to me. Most things are a misunderstanding and are cheaper to fix in an email.

Changes to this page

These terms change as the site does, and the date at the top is the date they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies. There is no archive of earlier versions and no mailing list to announce changes on.
